So It Broke

There are very few "moving parts" in the monitoring system. In fact only a couple of failure modes are really conceivable. (Of course you are expected to come up with one the author hasn't thought of... if so call an expert).

• The laser died. There should be a spare laser at the MPS. Consult experts for instructions as to replacement.DO NOT PROCEDE BLINDLY, YOU WILL DAMAGE THE PMT'S IN THE CALORIMETER!
• You broke a fiber. First tape off both ends at the break. Figure out how critical that fiber is. If you absolutely must have it working, call an expert for instructions.
